The Maple Leaf Guest House impressed me right away with the warm hospitality of the owners. They welcomed me in a way that made me feel at home. The room I stayed in, a Budget Double Room, was clean and had a comfortable bed, perfect for relaxing after a long day. Breakfast bags were provided, which I found delightful and thoughtful. The location is quite convenient too. very close to the local town with shops and just a short drive to Bristol's city center. I did encounter a few inconveniences. The kitchen facilities left much to be desired, particularly with the cleanliness of the microwave. The options for breakfast were basic, limited to cereal or bread with tea. The kettle was filled from a shared toilet tap, raising hygiene concerns.

This place woudl have been tolerable if only heating worked, however I had to endure a faulty radiator. breakfast was just stale bread and out-of-date milk—definitley not what I expected from a so-called hotel. The lack of a welcome gift was the icing on the cake, I almost gave this a good review but just couldn’t.

The deluxe double room offered a decent amount of space and was equipped with a flat-screen TV, adding a touch of comfort during downtime. The outdoor dining area provided a unique place to enjoy meals, while the option of a microwave was handy for warming up snacks.
The rooms had notable temperature issues—one stayed uncomfortably hot from afternoon sun, while another lacked proper heating, relying on a potentially faulty radiator. Breakfast options were severely limited. I encountered stale bread and out-of-date milk, with hygiene concerns arising from having to fill the kettle from a shared toilet tap. The microwave was not clean at all, raising doubts about general kitchen cleanliness.
